What It Is

FireLite® Plus Glass Ceramic

FireLite Plus is a laminated glass ceramic that does two jobs at once: it holds back fire and smoke for a rated period, and it meets impact safety standards so it protects people on both sides of the glass.

At 5/16" (8 mm) thick, it is clear and wireless — so you get the code compliance a fire-rated opening demands without the old-fashioned look of wired glass. It carries UL Classification and is listed for doors, sidelites, transoms and borrowed lites.

Blade Glazing LLC supplies and installs TGP fire-rated glass and fire-rated frames across the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex, for architects, general contractors and building owners.

  • Clear and wireless — no obstructed view
  • Protects from fire and impact on both sides of the glass
  • Fits TGP Fireframes® Designer Series or standard fire-rated frames
  • Backed by a 5-year limited manufacturer warranty
Key Features

Why Specifiers Choose FireLite Plus

Code compliance without compromising on clarity, size or design freedom.

20 to 180 Minute Ratings

Rated up to 180 minutes where the required hose stream test applies, covering everything from a 20-minute door to a 3-hour assembly.

Impact Safety-Rated

Meets ANSI Z97.1 and CPSC 16 CFR 1201 (Categories I and II) — so it is safe for use in doors and areas with human impact risk.

ultraHD® Surface

TGP's ultraHD technology improves surface quality, clarity and colour compared to standard fire-rated ceramics.

Large Sheet Sizes

Available in sheets up to 48" × 96", so larger openings can be glazed without extra framing members breaking up the view.

Decorative Options

Can be lightly sandblasted or etched on one side without affecting the fire rating — useful for privacy and branding.

Thermal Shock & Insulation

Withstands thermal shock, and can be built into an insulated glass unit where a thermal or acoustic upgrade is required.

Compliance

Listings & Standards

Classified and labeled by Underwriters Laboratories, Inc.® and Underwriters Laboratories of Canada. The file number for labeled fire-rated assemblies is R13377, with testing performed to the following standards.

UL 9 UL 10B UL 10C NFPA 80 NFPA 252 NFPA 257 CAN4 S-104 CAN4 S-106 MEA-290-90-M-6 LARR 25798

Permanent Labeling

Every piece is permanently labeled with the FireLite Plus logo, the UL logo and its fire rating — so inspectors can verify compliance on site.

Correct Glazing Method

Glazed into appropriate fire-rated framing with an approved glazing compound. Larger 90-minute assemblies require TGP's fire-rated glazing tape — we handle this correctly.

Not a Radiant Heat Barrier

FireLite Plus is not a barrier to radiant heat and does not meet ASTM E119 or UL 263. If your jurisdiction requires a heat-barrier product, talk to us about Pilkington Pyrostop® instead.
